It's a lie that EU candidate status brings additional financial aid - Papuashvili

Speaker of the Parliament and member of the Georgian Dream party Shalva Papuashvili, like the party chairman, says that the candidate status does not bring additional financial benefits to the country.

Papuashvili called all information about the benefits of candidate status propaganda and said the people who spread it are sowing nihilism and Euroskepticism.

"People who supplant overly high expectations for the candidate's status are sowing nihilism and euroscepticism. We've been hearing for over a week now that additional financial aid are tied to the candidate status, like 14 billion in budget, 5 million for every village, etc. All of us have heard it, all these words are lies," Shalva Papuashvili said.
