David Iakobashvili is behind this, he is connected with Evtushkov and Khidasheli - "Droa" on the sanctioned cargo in Batumi

Published:

Droa leader Elene Khoshtaria gave a briefing at the Batumi port about the entry of a ship carrying sanctioned oil products. She said that it was unthinkable for a ship to carry sanctioned cargo over such a long distance without prior approval. In addition, Khoshtaria says there is a sanctions circumvention mechanism at work, with ships changing their papers of origin.

"We have to focus on a few facts. It is unthinkable for a ship traveling 500 kilometers to carry sanctioned cargo without prior approval and without a guarantee that the cargo will be accepted here. Secondly, at the moment of entering the port, all ships go through a procedure that is checked by all agencies, including the customs, which then lied that it had no connection with it, otherwise it could not have entered the port. What this ship wanted in the port, is the mechanism for circumventing sanctions becomes this, the ship comes in, they change the papers of origin to then follow through and pick up this cargo elsewhere. It is noteworthy that the ship stayed for 2 days and the authorities confirmed the presence of this ship here and started talking about this ship only after all this was voiced in both the Ukrainian and Georgian press," Khoshtaria said.

According to Droa, David Iakobashvili, a Georgian citizen of Sweden is engaged in the oil business in Georgia and is behind this fact and mechanism.

"In 2014, Rosneft signed a partnership agreement and 49% of his company was purchased by Rosneft. After the sanctions, the formal documents were changed, this is public information. He is also in direct contact with Evtushenkov, the same Evtushenkov who was on the phone with Bidzina Ivanishvili and called him Borenka, who was in contact Khidasheli, and was on the board of Sistema. Georgia is involved in an informal pyramid of corrupt economic management, which is linked to the role of Ucha Mamatsashvili and Liluashvili in this scheme," Khoshtaria said.

She said it is important to work with partners to ensure that it is not the country that is under sanctions, but specific individuals.
