The Public Defender of Georgia says that for the court clan its own influence and advantages are important, not the interests of the country. According to Lomjaria, they are the reason Georgia was denied EU candidate status:
"Members of the clan in the judiciary don't know what we are talking about. Because of their decisions and clan governance, Georgia was recently denied EU candidate status.
"What matters to them is their personal, private interests, influence and the advantages that this clan influence in the judiciary gives them," said Nino Lomjaria.
Recall that yesterday, June 27, the Supreme Council of Justice appointed Mikhail Chinchaladze as chairman of the Court of Appeals for a period of 5 years, which is considered the main seat of the judicial clan.
