"Georgian Dream" sent its supporters to the representatives of the People's Movement in Batumi as well.
Giga Makarashvili, Irma Gordeladze and other civil activists distributed flyers as part of the "Home to Europe" campaign and explained to the population the need for the country to join the EU, during which activists of the ruling team verbally abused them. Supporters of the "Dream" were also aggressive towards the representatives of the critical media, including the "Mtavari Channel".
One of the people who insulted the activists is Gabriel Kamayev. He works in the Batumi City Council, in the faction "Georgian Dream".
Despite the insults, civil activists did not fell to provocations and continued the campaign.
"In every city the Dream is trying to thwart this campaign. They are sending people who work with them to the councils, to the boards. The fact is, they are already struggling, they no longer have any arguments and they are trying to demonstrate force. Unfortunately, nothing can help the matter, which was ruined by the dream a long time ago, and fortunately, we will still continue on the road to Europe and will definitely join the European Union," Giga Makarashvili said.
Despite attempts by the ruling team to disrupt meetings, the campaign continues.
