"No law in the country justifies an insult to dignity, it was a proportionate reaction," says Georgian Dream MP Anri Okhanashvili about the attack on TV Pirveli founder Vato Tsereteli. Okhanashvili agrees to release all the video footage available at the U.S. Embassy and claims that Tsereteli committed a "dirty act" and at a time like this "all people have a duty to protect their dignity."
Okhanashvili doubts that Vato Tsereteli is "intoxicated" and demands to conduct an expertise. According to him, there was a "constant provocation".
"Of course, I cannot and will not repeat these words. That is why I immediately reported it to our American friends, I am ready and have full desire to move everyone, to make the period of their stay there public, so that everyone could see and be a man for what they did.How he came, how he took me aside, to say all this, it is amazing what state this man was in, I do not exclude that he had the appropriate alcoholic beverage and examination should be done where necessary and everything can be determined, and if confirmed, a man in such state goes to the US Embassy, purposely. I am well aware of the obligation of tolerance and there have been instigated cases, there have been instances where there have been insults, but this has crossed all boundaries and so I am ready and willing to meet with our strategic partners, I want to make everything public.
There were people there who saw him come in, how he approached me, how he took me aside, etc. I'm ready for that. There must be a harshest response to it and I will raise the issue," says Okhanashvili, although he does not say anything about the issue if there was a provocation, why were not the appropriate people present there?
