"Joining the European Union is a long road. Regarding Ukraine, including members friendly to Ukraine, they openly say that Ukraine will probably become a member of the European Union by 2050. There is also a well-known European parliamentarian in Georgia, Viola von Cramon, who said that the European Union has put both Ukraine and Moldova in an eternal waiting room
In principle, the forecasts made in relation to Ukraine and Moldova are still not optimistic, although we have grounds for more optimism. Despite the fact that Ukraine and Moldova were previously granted status, in all respects, Ukraine and Moldova are far behind Georgia - it concerns democracy, constitutional system, protection of human rights, fight against corruption, economic environment, etc., all these topics are related. We are far ahead of Ukraine and Moldova in all these directions. Therefore, it does not matter when Ukraine and Moldova are granted candidate status, we can become a member state of the European Union much earlier."
- Chairman of "Georgian Dream", Irakli Kobakhidze, said on the air of Public Broadcaster.
