Russia may become the main oil importer for Georgia. The president of "Wissol" company confirms that they are negotiating with the occupying country on fuel supply.

Before that, Soso Pkhakadze said that they were trying to find a source that would be cheaper than European fuel.

"We are trying to this day and we want to find a source of fuel that will be cheaper than the European fuel that we import today. We work with about 7-8 countries and wherever we find the cheapest fuel, we will import it from there. This is an axiomatic truth of business," he said. he.

To the question - whether negotiations are ongoing with Russia, Pkhakadze answered: "Not only with Russia. We are businessmen and we negotiate with any country. Wherever fuel will be cheaper, if we import any product from there. Business operates in this way - to keep costs as low as possible and to earn more profit."

Experts are sure that Georgia will become fully dependent on Russian oil in the near future.

"The fact that Russian fuel is cheap is actually a lie, and the Prime Minister of the country, Irakli Gharibashvili, and in this case, Soso Pkhakadze, are also lying. They just want to facilitate the opening of Russian oil products in Georgia. The fact that their statements regarding the price are lies is also confirmed by the statistics. On the one hand, in the last month Oil products imported from Russia moved to the first place, but instead of decreasing, the price increased. It will be very costly for the Prime Minister and the representatives of the private sector who will participate in this campaign, which is called the opening of Russian-sanctioned oil products in Georgia," said a member of the "Anti-Corruption Movement" Vaso Urushadze.
