94 votes against 4 - new Electoral Code adopted

Published:

The new Electoral Code has been adopted - the Parliament has recently amended the Electoral Code in the second reading and approved it by 94 votes to 4.

The bulk of the changes concern the 25-meter distance at polling stations and the quota for women. The rules for allocation of advertising time for political parties have also been changed, according to which partner parties can no longer concede advertising time to each other.

We would like to remind that the only issue that has been discussed by MPs is the issue of quota for women. According to the change, every fourth person in the party list must be of the opposite sex, which means that 30 women will be elected in the next parliament.
