"I can only imagine how difficult these last months have been for you. But please take care of yourself, recover your strength so that we can meet again soon and continue working together," this was the words of MEP and former chairman of the European People's Party Mikheil Saakashvili. Antonio López-Istúriz White headed the European People's Party for several years.

Dear Misha,

People like us have experienced everything in politics, both the best and the worst in this life. I know you will agree that the only emotion incompatible with a real politician is regret. We get involved in politics because we have a mission, because we want to be part of positive change, because we're not afraid to take risks.

And one of the best parts of being a politician is meeting people who share our ambition and courage to push for change.

My friend, thank you for the kind words you sent me from prison. It really is especially important for me to receive such respect from you when you are in such a difficult situation.

It wasn't easy to say goodbye to the EPP after 20 years there, but you know me well, and of course I will never stop fighting. Or how can I when I have such a special example in your person. I will continue to do everything in my power to support this European project, the EPP and my friends wherever they are.
