Today, the court of appeals is hearing the political verdict handed down by the first instance court against the CEO of the Mtavari Channel. The session is scheduled for 1 PM. Nika Gvaramia himself will also be present at the trial.
"Today will be the first sitting of the court of appeals and will begin to consider our complaints and those of the prosecutor's office. In fact this case is a bright example of falsification of case and political persecution and this case is being evaluated as such not only by us or NGOs acting in Georgia but also on the international scene.
I do not know what decision the court is going to take, the only thing I am sure of is that it will be a continuation of political justice and they will act according to their orders," said lawyer Dimitri Sadzaglishvili.
Nika Gvaramia's wife, Sopo Liluashvili, says he has no expectations in advance. The family hopes there are still people in the system who care about their country as much as Nika Gvaramia does.
