Nika Gvaramia addresses the court. He responds to statements made by the judge in his case, Lasha Chkhikvadze, and statements made to the US Ambassador, as well as to information circulated by Chkhikvadze himself that he and his family were being bullied after Nika Gvaramia's conviction. Nika Gvaramia condemned such an act against the judge's family:
"I'm glad to see you, most of all I'm glad to see Sandro, and since Sandro is here and Sopo is here too, I want to start by saying that I heard Mr. Chhikvadze's statements, I don't know what it's all about. I've never heard of anything like this, nor have I heard a judge attacking our main strategic partner. There have been all kinds of courts in this country, but not like this.
Nevertheless, I will dwell on this statement of his that stuck out to me the most. He said that after my conviction, there has been non stop bullying of his wife and children That's why I went from Sandro and Sopo to this statement.
I do not follow social media for obvious reasons, but I want to start with the fact that whatever reason there is, and Mr. Chkhikvadze gave everyone a reason to say what they want about him, there really is no reason, even theoretically, to treat his family this way. I personally exclude the involvement of any of my friends, family members or others in all of this, of course. Moreover, my organized person has not even been mentioned by Mr. Chkhikvadze. I want to state here, I know that many people are listening to this, I find it categorically unacceptable, I condemn it and I demand that all this be stopped immediately. Just to remind Mr. Chkhikvadze that it would be conscientious and right if he also thought about other people's family members, wife, children, etc. during his actions. I do not want to be like Mr. Chkhikvadze, I will act in good conscience, I did it before and I am going to do so in the future," said Nika Gvaramia.
