Occupiers ship in the port of Poti | Sanctioned Russian oil is still being sold in Georgia

Published:

Sanctioned oil from Russia is still being sold in Georgia. A Russian tanker has unloaded several thousand tons of fuel in the port of Poti and has already left Georgian territorial waters. The Georgian company receiving the cargo claims to be operating legally and in full compliance with the law. According to the Georgian Dream government, the country has not joined Western sanctions banning trade in Russian oil products.

The oil is indeed Russian. And it belongs to a company directly affiliated with the Kremlin. And the Georgian government helps it to sell unsanctioned products. Recently Rosneft has actually legally become one of the main suppliers of Georgian oil companies. Even the ship, which delivered fuel to the port of Poti, is owned by another Russian state giant, Sberbank, along with Rosneft.
