MEP Rasa Juknevičienė says that protecting Bidzina Ivanišvili seems more important to the Georgian dream than the country's future.
Juknevičienė says it is unthinkable and impossible to change the resolution, which talked about punishing Bidzina Ivanishvili, because it expresses the opinion of democratic countries.
"I was personally shocked when I saw this letter. It seems that it is more important for the Georgian Dream to protect Bidzina Ivanishvili than their own country, this is very sad news. As we can see, after the last Council of Europe meeting, the Georgian Dream has not learned its lessons - oligarchic rule is a factor that prevents Georgia from getting EU status, they do not understand what it means for democracy....
The fact that they demanded to change the resolution against Bidzina Ivanishvili is unbelievable, it's impossible. This resolution has been passed and we are an alliance of democratic countries and our will is expressed in this resolution.
I understand that it's difficult for the opposition to work with the government, but they still have to try to make a step from their side," Rasa Juknevičienė said.
