"The letter raised a lot of questions..."| Kaladze on Ivanishvili's letter

Published:

"The letter raised many questions, and I am sure these questions will be answered," was the reaction of Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze to the letter distributed today by the oligarch Ivanishvili:

He again claims that "Bidzina Ivanishvili is no longer in politics" and says he has no knowledge of the meeting between Ivanishvili and Kelly Degnan:

"You know that Bidzina Ivanishvili left his position as chairman of the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party long ago. He is no longer in politics. So I have no information about this meeting, but the letter raised many questions and I am sure these questions will be answered," says Kaladze.

Kakha Kaladze believes that Bidzina Ivanishvili's assessment of the ruling team's stance on war threats is correct and the Georgian government is acting only in the interests of the country.

"We have done everything, are doing and will do in the future to ensure that the interests of our country and people are protected first and foremost. Today more than ever, our country needs peace, tranquility and economic development.

We have heard many statements about how we have been urged to go to war, this is not a topic brought out of nowhere - it has been non-governmental organizations, specific political parties, there has been direct talk about going to war. I will repeat once again: we feel deeply what is happening in Ukraine, we sympathize with it in every possible way and support it in all international arenas, but first of all we act in the interests of our people, our country, and we will do everything to maintain peace and tranquility in the country," Kaladze said.
