Another MP, Guram Macharashvili, is leaving the Georgian Dream. He recently made a statement to this effect in parliament.
According to him, he is leaving the party and faction and will continue to work as an independent deputy.
"It is the right policy to provide the necessary information to the public, because the fundamental principle of democracy is that the public should know the political processes, and therefore, the decision maker is the public, therefore, since it is the public that should be making decisions, my position is natural, that being the member of the Georgian Dream faction, may be an obstacle, for some important news to reach the public," Macharashvili said.
He mentioned in the media that after Bidzina Ivanishvili's letter was published and the meeting was not denied by the U.S. Ambassador, a "legitimate" question arises: "Did the Ambassador have a question during those three hours, for example about the government, did she express displeasure? including our attitude to the war, the sanctions, was there a kind of suggestion to return to politics?
By his own statement, it would have been nice if the ambassador had answered these questions.
