Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili awarded the eight heroes who tragically died during a rescue operation in Gudauri for civil sacrifice.

"By presidential decision, Georgia awarded the people who died during the rescue operation in Gudauri with the Medal for Civil Sacrifice.

On July 29, Zaza Loria, Dimitri Kaadze, Levan Chokheli, Andro Kujoshvili, Giorgi Margiani, Kakha Torchinava, Girgi Venetski and Ketevan Gulagashvili, who died during the rescue operation in Gudauri, were awarded for their supreme civil responsibility and exemplary, selfless actions during the rescue operation, - says the press service of the Presidential Administration.
