Request for a visa regime with Russia is connected with participation in the war - Okhanashvili

Published:

According to Georgian Dream MP Anri Okhanashvili, the demand to establish a visa regime with Russia is related to the entry into the war. According to him, the government acts in accordance with the interests of society, and not "for some momentary political steps."

"Regarding political issues such as the one that is being stepped up now, the question of establishing a visa regime, it is now clear what the agenda is and what interest it serves. We know that we have repeatedly said that Saakashvili has cancelled the visa regime, restored visa-free regime, if it had not happened we would have made the relevant decision in a concrete political situation, but now when it comes to continuation of this narrative we will take the maximum possible steps which will help our country, will not endanger the interests of citizens, will not act against interests of our citizens, in this case we will always act in the interests of our society, not for some shortsighted political moves introduced again and again by specific opposition radical groups. No one is really interested in anything, aside from destabilization in the country and eventually our the involvement in the war, this is the interest and all such proposals serve this interest," said Anri Okhanashvili.
