The American expert is already with the third president. After an hour of waiting Eric David Gold Smith was taken to Viva Med and the American psychiatrist was already informed within 1 hour about the treatment protocol and Mikheil Saakashvili's state of health. He may need additional tests.
The administration of the clinic has no answer as to why the American specialist was delayed. The clinic says that if the court has any questions about Mikheil Saakashvili's health, they are ready to cooperate and provide all information.
"Experts of the international level have arrived, they will get acquainted with the conducted treatment and tests and will make a conclusion. If the court has any questions for us, we are ready to answer them," Zurab Chkhaidze, Clinical Director of Viva Med says.
Mikheil Saakashvili's lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze is also present at Viva Med clinic.
"There are many questions, but the main ones are 2 questions: whether Mikheil Saakashvili is seriously ill and the second one is whether his illness interferes with the execution of the sentence. But it has about 100 sub-questions. However, there are specific tests in it. The extensive psychiatry material is compiled with the latest American guidelines in mind. He has already done some work, in particular Giuli Alasania and his family members interviewed these people remotely, this lasted for several days, maybe even a week and finally after the meeting with Mikheil Saakashvili he will make a summary which will be reflected in the opinion issued by Empathy" - says Shalva Khachapuridze.
In a few minutes a UN-accredited forensic expert will also arrive at the clinic. During the day, the experts will visit the special investigative commission, where they will learn about the camera recordings of how the third president was transferred and in what condition Mikheil Saakashvili was in the penitentiary system.
