"Losing weight is not always related to health problems... the state has done everything possible"

According to the Minister of Justice, the state has done and is doing everything for the health of Mikheil Saakashvili, so they plan to apply to the Samkharauli Bureau for an alternative expertise:

"In the coming days, we are going to apply to the Samkharauli Center of Expertise to conduct a comprehensive examination of Mikheil Saakashvili. As you know this person has been staying in Viva Med clinic for several months and his health has been under constant supervision of qualified medical personnel, as you know his health is in public interest and we want to get additional information which will be separate from the examination so that there is not a single question mark around this person's health condition.

During such a long and general time of Mr. Saakashvili's imprisonment, he was repeatedly provided with qualified medical services, both directly within the penitentiary institution and on the territory of the 18th medical institution, and he was also in Gori. And later, when necessary, he was transferred to Viva Med clinic. So the whole period of time when he needed medical care, the state provided it to him. That's what we did throughout this period. Everything that was medically necessary was done by the state," said Bregadze.

When asked about the reason why Mikheil Saakashvili's condition is not getting better and why he is losing weight Bregadze responds that "losing weight is not always related to health problems.

According to Bregadze, it is up to doctors and specialists to speak about Mikheil Saakashvili's state of health.
