Irakli Kobakhidze praised Salome Zurabishvili - the chairman of the ruling party says that by appointing Davit Bakradze as ambassador to the UN, the president returned to the constitutional boundries. Kobakhidze did not rule out recalling the constitutional lawsuit filed against Zurabishvili:
"It is good that the president returned to the constitutional boundries. According to the constitution, the president plays only a formal role in the appointment and dismissal of an ambassador, and in fact, this principle was respected in this case when Davit Bakradze was appointed to the position of ambassador, which is very good.
As for the lawsuit, it is up to the Georgian government to decide, however, based on the fact that the lawsuit was related only to the non-appointment of Davit Bakradze, it may be logical to recall the lawsuit, although the Georgian government is discussing this, because the plaintiff is the government. If necessary, I will also be involved in consultations," said Kobakhidze.
