"I did not sign because someone forced me or I was afraid of something, I signed so that there would be no delay because of me" - President Salome Zurabishvili speaks about this and responds to her appointment of Davit Bakradze as the ambassador of Georgia to the UN and explains her own decision.
As she stated at today's briefing, she did not want Georgia to be represented at the UN General Assembly without an ambassador.
I signed it not because someone forced me, or because I was afraid of something, because until now, while this consultation form was going and it was submitted, I signed all the submissions, so that there would be no delay because of me. My opinions were not heard, there should be no delay, and especially, in this case, which concerns the UN General Assembly, which is to be held in three weeks, and it is not really in the interests of our country that the full-fledged Georgian ambassador was not there at the moment when very important issues will be discussed at this General Assembly. - says Zurabishvili.
