The political crisis created in the country, European integration and 12 conditions necessary to get candidate status. Today, the opposition met with the representatives of the International Republican Institute of the USA. The leaders of the party provided IRI with information on the position of "Georgian Dream", which does not take into account and does nothing to fulfill the recommendations of the European Union.
According to the representatives of the opposition, the only concern of the western partners is that the Georgian government is losing all chances for the country to receive the status of a candidate.
According to Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the "United National Movement", the only solution for the country to get out of the crisis is early elections.
"There is no better solution to overcome the political crisis in the country than elections, especially the new early elections, which present a chance to save the country from historical shame, and this historical shame lies in the refusal of the Georgian dream for European aspirations and prospects," says Nika Melia.
According to the opposition, the International Republican Institute expressed concern over the fact that the ruling party does not take appropriate steps to implement recommendations and does not take into account the opinions of Western partners on various issues.
It is of great concern to our partners that when we should be talking about fulfilling the requirements of the European Union, something like what happened yesterday, when the veto was overridden by the majority and deepened the serious problem of illegal wiretapping and surveillance," said the "Lelo" MP Salome Samadashvili.
