The Ministry of Health of Georgia did not give licenses to the foreign doctors participating in the medical examination of Mikheil Saakashvili. The Empathy Center received an official refusal from Azarashvili's office today.
The Ministry requests additional documentation to issue a temporary license to doctors. The medics who are members of the alternative commission believe that the ruling team is trying to prolong time and purposefully damage Saakashvili's health.
"Today we received a negative response regarding the two experts. They are still asking for documents confirming their professional experience. The documents that were sent through the American side did not satisfy our regulatory agency. Therefore, we will send them to the lawyers again so that the experts can provide us with additional documents.
The regulatory agency is extending this process as the US side has sufficient documentation. These are quite well-known people in their field, and I think that sufficient documentation has been presented," says Mariam Jishkariani, head of "Empathy".
