Droa leader Elene Khoshtariia responds to the Georgian government's statements regarding the Iranian airline plane and says that these statements are lies.
She urges the authorities to make the weight and volume of the cargo public.
"We heard an absolutely alarming briefing from Georgian Dream about an Iranian plane that flew through Georgian airspace and arrived in Moscow from an Iranian military airfield.
There are documents that say they are under sanctions for shipping military cargo and terrorist enabling. The dream lies as if a permit issued by "ICAO" means that the plane has no political problems. ICAO issues only a specific technical authorization as to whether an aircraft can fly, and has nothing to do with cargo or authorization. This is not a passenger plane. Accordingly, the sovereign Georgian state is responsible for whether it will allow this suspicious aircraft on its territory.
According to the documents, this is a military airfield, so we demand answers as to why we allowed a plane flying from a military airfield.
Georgia has U.S. radars that can check the volume and weight of cargo. So we are categorically asking the the government to share how much cargo was on that plane. This particular plane flew only to Russia and Asia, it did not fly to Europe. After the start of the war the number of these flights has increased catastrophically, it is impossible that these flights were not related to the supply of drones and chips that Russia needs against Ukraine. The Georgian side is obliged to make public the weight and volume of the cargo.
The support of terrorist Iran and allowing its cargo planes into Georgian airspace, which was not used by Azerbaijan, about which articles related to the transportation of drones and military equipment are daily written, is a disastrous blow to our interests, a double blow both as a step against Ukraine and in support of a terrorist state.", - says Elene Khoshtaria
