39,000 Russian accounts in Georgian banks in the last 6 months - according to the statistics of the National Bank, since the day of Putin's invasion of Ukraine, about 40,000 citizens of the occupying country have left to live in Georgia.

The number of companies registered by Russians in Georgia is increasing every month.

Economists say that the most important problem is what the money on these accounts can be used for. The authorities have no mechanism to find out who is opening the accounts and what the Russians are using these funds for.

According to them, the opening of bank accounts proves that the Russians intend to stay in Georgia for a long time. Specialists in the field think that it is necessary to create a legal framework in order to control the issue at the legislative level.
