According to him, yesterday the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, stated the state's position that such a meeting is not a problem and is not a crime. Khoshtaria states that this is actually a criminal offense and fits into the context of international personal sanctions.

"I would like to answer Gomelauri's question, is it a crime to meet with the head of the FSB, and to answer that according to the law, yes, according to the first paragraph of the eighth article of the Law of Georgia on the occupied territories, the Russian FSB, which created the border police in our occupied territories, is a specifically criminal agency with which having relations is punished by law. Also, his actions fit into the context of Article 319 of the Criminal Code and he commits a crime against the interests of Georgia, the state, in addition to treason, which can be a political assessment, it is treason under the Criminal Code, when such meetings take place," - said Elene Khoshtaria.
