Russian citizens should be banned from entering Georgia! - The Strategy
Agmashenebeli has created a petition, which can already be signed:

"Strategy Agmashenebeli" comes up with an initiative to ban Russian citizens from entering Georgia, similar to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and other countries. The ban should not apply to Russian citizens of Georgian origin. In addition, border crossings from Russian territory to Georgia should be allowed for Georgian citizens.

After Russia's attack on Ukraine, Russian citizens began to enter Georgia en masse, and their number approached a critical limit. The flow especially intensified after the announcement of military mobilization by the Russian authorities, which threatens Georgia's national interests, our country's security and ensuring peace.

Of particular concern is the "new concept of Russian humanitarian policy abroad," approved by Vladimir Putin on September 6. The new concept stresses that in its relations with Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Georgia, and Moldova, protection of the rights of Russian-speaking population in these countries will be taken into account.

So far, Russia has repeatedly used the so-called "protection of the interests of Russian-speaking and Russian citizens. This was the case during the attack on Georgia in 2008, during the attack on Ukraine in 2014 and again during the attack on Ukraine in 2022, which resulted in the occupation and annexation of Georgian and Ukrainian territories.

Based on Georgia's national interest, we believe it is urgent and imperative to implement the prohibitions outlined in the petition.
