Probable candidates who are considered to replace the ombudsman are announced

On whom will the non-governmental organizations agree upon and who will be named as Nino Lomjaria's successor- the opposition is waiting for the decision of the civil sector.

The decision made as a result of consultations will be announced on September 29, although the names of those whose candidacies are being considered to replace the ombudsman are already being announced. The names are Nazi Janezashvili, Ana Abashidze, Zviad Koridze and acting deputy public defender, Giorgi Burjanadze.

Ana Abashidze says that she has not yet received an official offer, although she expresses her readiness and does not rule out submitting an application.

Zviad Khoridze says that according to his information, his candidacy was not discussed and he did not communicate with non-governmental organizations.

"Dream" deputy Zarqua says that he will support "Girchi" member Iago Khvichia, and in his opinion, Khvichia will be a better ombudsman than Nino Lomjaria.

According to the information of the Parliament office, at the moment, only 4 candidates for ombudsmanship are officially registered.

The application deadline is September 29.
