The chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, condemned the "visit" of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, to Sokhumi and noted that if such a step is repeated in the future, it may even lead to the severing of relations between the two countries.
"Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Sokhumi is an unfriendly gesture and a gross violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. We all agree that taking such steps undermines the country's sovereignty and fundamental principles of international law, as well as undermines diplomatic relations between Georgia and Belarus. The Belarusian side should know that if such a step is repeated in the future, it may even lead to the severing of relations between the two countries. We will not allow anyone to harm the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country," said Nikoloz Samkharadze.
