The Minister of Health explained why the foreign doctor who came to Georgia at his own expense to participate in the case of Mikheil Saakashvili was not given a license. According to Azarashvili, the documentation presented by the mentioned doctor did not correspond to the requested one.
"The regulatory agency and the special commission in the Ministry of Health are managing the right to practice medicine in Georgia. We do not grant visitation rights to patients or prisoners. In this particular case, the submitted documentation did not correspond to the requested, so the commission considered it inappropriate to grant the right to medical activity to this particular person.
As far as I know, the list of documents, which was necessary to present to obtain a license for medical activity, was incomplete and therefore could not be satisfied," - Zurab Azarashvili said at the briefing held after the end of the government session.
