"The distribution of the tape serves some purpose, which I'm sure we will find out soon enough," says Giorgi Gabunia, acting CEO of the Mtavari Channel, before going in for questioning.

He says the investigation is being conducted in order to get a result that will help the government manage various processes. Gabunia said he is cooperating with the investigation and will provide all necessary information, except information related to the source.

"I do not hope that the purpose of the investigation is to establish objective reality, the investigation in our country is conducted in order to achieve the results that the authorities want, and then help them in the various processes that they have planned in advance. ...The distribution of this recording certainly serves something, I am sure that we will soon know the purpose. I will assist the investigation in any way I can to provide information as to how the illegal recording was obtained. If there are questions about the content of what we are talking about there, if there will be an attempt to establish more source details, I will not answer anything about what we are discussing, why we are discussing it and how," says Giorgi Gabunia.
