Archil Talakvadze says that similar changes will be made in the Criminal Code. According to him, the relevant changes have already been made and will be registered in the Parliament of Georgia today.

Georgian Dream is proposing an amendment to the Election Code to impose stricter sanctions on cases of voter coercion, intimidation and breach of voting secrecy. The Election Code itself states that in case of committing such an act, a person will be held criminally liable. A similar change will be made in the Criminal Code. In order to violate the secrecy of the ballot, intimidation or coercion of a voter committed in various forms will result in a fine or house arrest for a period of 6 months to 2 years. The Speaker of the Parliament also noted that these changes tighten the responsibility for possible violators of the electoral process and increase the free choice of voters and the degree of protection of election secrecy. According to him, the goal of the "Dream" is to hold the 2020 parliamentary elections with the highest democratic standards. According to him, they believe that "Georgian Dream" will win in fair elections.
