In the first 6 months of 2020 the political parties received over GEL 7 million in donations. The information is distributed by the National Audit Office.
According to Besik Kochiashvili, the Head of Financial Monitoring Department of the Audit Service, during the first 6 months of 2020 political parties received donations of GEL 7,004,696.
"Georgian Dream" has received 67% of donations, which is GEL 4720251
“Lelo" has received 21% of the donations in the first 6 months of this year, which is GEL 1 494 915.
Political donations received by other parties in the first 6 months of this year are as follows:
- "European Georgia" - GEL 865,900;
- "United National Movement" - GEL 465,869;
- "Alliance of Patriots of Georgia" - GEL 144,000;
- Other parties - GEL 33,596. It should be noted that today 263 poli tical unions are registered in Georgia,68 of which were registered as election subjects in theparliamentary elections of 2020. In 2020, 13 new political entities were registered.
